So, how much did it end up costing you?

Too much :D. $150 for the tickets, $37 for the corsage, $8 for pictures, $20 for entry to the afterparty, $35 for a matching tie, and $40 for a black shirt that I didn't have.

Grand total: $290...completely not worth it, but I had a good time.

Oh god. That might be why im not going.

Only dance I ever went to was homecoming. Cost me ~$200, and it wasnt that great.

Prom is the most significant event in the life of a high school student, until the next day when you realize how completely insignificant it was. ;)

I'd recommend going though.

The few hundred you spend on prom pales in comparison to the thousands you'll spend on your wedding.

She's cute, nice job. Your tie doesn't exactly match her dress, though. And no tux?

Glad you enjoyed it!

The bottom of her dress is an exact match to my tie :p. Too bad I'm colorblind, and my jacket is a dark blue, and my shirt is black. Good thing we took the jackets off as soon as we got there.

It was junior prom, not senior, so tux's weren't the dresscode.

lol, that was the first thing I noticed (blue suit/black shirt). At least you had a decent knot for your tie.

Well said and I totally agree. If I didn't go I'd probably wonder "what if".

OP - is that $150 for two tickets or per person? IIRC mine was $80 each but that was 15 or so years ago.

Old man walkin'!

Ah, nice, then. I noticed the tie was a similar pattern so it looked like you were trying to match, but it wasn't close enough. I'll trust you that it matches the bottom :).

And I was actually going to mention the blue jacket/black shirt, but I wasn't entirely sure and didn't want to wrongfully accuse you.

Glad you enjoyed it. Hope you got some.

See, if you went to my school you could have gotten a hot deal - it was only $45 per person in 1999. :p

GO GO GO. To anyone who's on the fence. GO. You don't go, you'll always regret it, you DO go, there's like a 5% chance you'll regret it, and a 95% chance you'll end up having fun.

What the hell is a junior prom?

for my school, Senior Prom = Senior classmen only.

Junior Prom = freshman to seniors can participate.

prom is a waste of money and a chance for all the punks in the school to show off how mommy and daddy can rent limos for them.

Im not going because:

A) It costs a ton of money I dont want to spend.

B)I dont have a girl I am into that is that special to me.

C)I dont have a girl.

But even if I did have a girl, I still probably wouldnt go. If I had a job, then maybe I would go.

What are you doing posting on the internet? You should be away from the computer, still enjoying an after-party.

Trust me, we did :p. Got home at 1, and partied straight through 9AM, when I went to work a little under the weather.
Cute date... partied all night...
Good work young man.
