My Private Folder

Not sure how many of you use this app ("My Private Folder" from MS), but I liked it since it was a simple & free folder encrypting app from Microsoft.

I have it installed on all of my PC's (on WinXP). It just keeps the kids out of my "private" stuff.

Well after installing Windows 7 on a different partition & browsing my Windows XP partition (dual bootable), I noticed I could open My Private folder, and I could see the folder names & files in there, and open the subfolders too. The only thing is when you try to open the files themselves they seem to be encrypted still. I THINK, as I can't open any of them.

if you're serious about encrypting something use TrueCrypt.

There's a reason My Private Folder 1.0 was the 1st and last version. No one wanted it after it nuked the folder and forgot your password.
