My printer shows up as a new device everytime I boot up

My daughters computer, an IC7-G with a lexmark Z35 printer, wants to reinstall the drivers everytime it is booted. I cannot figure this out, why would it lose the drivers everytime it gets shut down?

Perhaps the drivers were installed incorrectly. With USB devices you generally install the drivers BEFORE you ever connect the device itself. Download and use the latest driver version as well. Usually the one that comes on the CD is a generation or two old by the time you buy it...
. So I suggest you uninstall/disconnect the current printer and drivers and reinstall exactly as per the mfr's instructions. If you don't have the manual or installation instructions, you can usually download that too.

A couple of things to try/check
Check the BIOS to make sure P&P and/or USB is enabled.
If it is a USB Printer and plugged to a Hub then try straight to the MoBo
Look for new Drivers and try setting the Printer @ Default.
Check the Printer Cable

and read Zeppers response cause he posted right B4 me 😉

that was it, I just deep sixed an HP printer and picked her up this cheap lexmark, I uninstalled the driver and downloaded the latest updated one and reinstalled, so far so good. My usuall install technique for the HP didn't work for the lexmark. thanks for the replies fellas.
