Not great for a side panel intake but I think Novercalis said it well.

Ninja with an ASUS tag.

agreed  ASUS should stick to Mobos and other things...
They should probably leave the heatsink buisness alone.....

Replace "Asus" with "Gigabyte." Repeat as necessary.

We've hit about the best you can do with a heatsink, no? I mean some company like TT or TR might come up with some new uber HSF that'll cool 1c more then the top of the line. But who cares? I have a TT Beetle, I bought it half for the cooling it can do, and half for the look of it. It's not the best cooler, but I couldn't OC my system any further if I got some Zalman 9500 that'd drop the temps 1-2c more. Or at least, not OC enough to make a difference I could notice. Air cooling, we've hit the celing. Now it's just going to be bragging rights.

That's bound to outdo the Star-Ice by a long stretch, and might challenge the SI-120.

First, notice the fins. Same grade and thickness of aluminum to the SI-120's. The pipes are six in number -- one more than the SI-120 and the same as the Scythe Ninja. And the U-shaped pipes are either longer or about the same as those in either of the other two.

The heatsink base resembles that of the XP-90 or XP-120.

It looks promising. For now, I give ASUS a brownie-point for effort. We await the reviews, or word of any which can be quoted with systematic bench-testing, well-specified test-bed components and idle - load temperature pairs over fixed or regularly varied room ambients.

WHAT ? Since I have tried the Gigabyte 3d cooler and now using the all copper version in my AMD rig, I will never go back to any other heatsink type the 3D-cooler is the most creative, effecient cooler I have tried for a while, ASUS ones have a lot of design going to them but obviously in the wrong direction, they always find a way to blow up all that hardwork they put into their coolers like that stupid Jet engine like one, that one is a % 100 failure by my standards.Gigabyte on the other hand are in the right direction and I bet we will see more creative designs from them in the future.

I like Asus mobos but that's it. No Asus video cards and no Asus heatsinks in my boxes.
