My Powercolor Radeon 9700 installation and notes thread

My friend said that without AGP 8x, the pipeline isn't big enough to give me a huge advantage. Any comments on that?

Hehe, I told my friend he should get a Radeon 9700 Pro (upgrade from GF2MX) and he told me the same thing. I had to explain to him the same thing Chiz had said.

FYI: that's not a molex connector. It's called a berg connector. Molex is the connector which goes into CDROMS and Hard Drives. Bergs go into your videocard and floppy drives.

Ah, so it's a berg connector which uses a molex adaptor. The videocard has a berg connector, not a molex. It just happens to come with a molex adapter to make it easier for people who are short on bergs.

I got mine today, and it looks great, its fast. But all my 98se icons are black ! And it keeps locking up. I just turned on fast writes, but I can't change my bios to 128 agp aperature arg!!

Does yours hang after exiting 3D apps? Mine does for about 5 seconds. I'm using the version 2.1 drivers. Maybe I should upgrade.
