My power supply just blew up

My silverstone zeus 650W just blew up...
THE COMPUTER WAS NOT EVEN ON.
The power supply was plugged in, so some power was going in. but the computer was not turned on.

I am not impressed.

What are the odds that something got fried?

Fire shot out of the back? Yeh, something got roasted. 5 years ago when my generic PSU blew fire (switched to Antec only after that), I lost my hard drive, video card, and other parts. Although, as you can see from my thread, things have started to act strangely with my electronics lately, do you live across the street from me by any chance?

Scary stuff. I wonder if anyone's house has ever caught on fire or if anyone's ever been hurt by PSUs "blowing up" and spewing flames or sparks? Like what if the back of the computer was close to or up against some curtains or something? Or even sparks falling onto carpet could .... :Q

I was e-chatting with another member on this site awhile back, and he mentioned that a Dell rep had said they had seen some of their PSUs actually catch on fire (this was years ago). This was a second-hand account so I can't vouch for its accuracy, but if it's true, dang ....

Maybe we should all start thinking about building aluminum foil shrouds over the backs of our computers or something.
