$22.99 out the door with a $21 rebate. Its kinda loud, but for $1.99 its hard to complain. Great for spare for non gaming systems. Most single core computers rarely use even 200watts anyways. Plus 5 year warranty.

Mad dog EXTREMELY bad at paying rebates and 250w won't drive much more than 1 DVD and 1 HD.

I got one of these cool seasonic meters for work. For giggles I plugged my power strip into the meter.
xp2500 oc'd to xp3200++
250gb maxtor, 160gb seagate, 1.5gb ram, one cdrom drive spinning, nvidia 5900, 1-80mm fan, 1-92mm fan, 2-120mm fans plus the actual loss of the power supply since I was measuring input to the PSU.

The watt reading: 210w on an Antec 380w PSU at load

DISCLAIMER: This has nothing to do with the current ouput on individual rails. This doesn't mean a crappy 250w will actually work at 200+W. This doesn't mean your voltage regulation is as good as mine. ETC, etc....

I just thought you'd find it interesting. OP I saw this deal and I think this would work just fine in my junk parts computer.

Mine's powering a Radeon 9550, Athlon 2200+, 250GB WD hard drive, 16x DL DVD+/-RW, Hauppauge PVR-350, 3 fans, half a gig of ram...

It's not a Maddog PSU, but it's 250. People don't realize how much power is really needed for things. It also drives a full frontpanel LCD and multiple USB devices.

A friend of mine picked one up. On the cover it says it has a clear fan. The fan on his is black and doesn't have a grill. Also the specs on the box says peak power is 300 W, while the label on the unit says max power is 250W (230 + 22). The model number and serial number on the unit matches the box which was shrink wrapped, so we don't think it was a return.

The +12 was like 16A. Don't remember the others.

unless your running SLI or a RAID 50, your not pulling more than 250 watts.

haven't gotten mine either from the past deal -- 350w far with $15 r + $30 r (but only sent off the $30 to try to get at least one of them paid just in case)

but
"The +12 was like 16A. Don't remember the others."
is okay for $22.99. wishing there was a way to check the boxes beforehand

thanks for the info!

I had one these and return it.

3.3v + 5v = 125 watts max
12v = 197 watts max

250 watts nominal 300 peak

Fan: 80mm only one and it only spins at 1900 RPM

It has a very small amount of venting....not good.

NOTE: It's very lite at 3.5 pounds !!!!!

At $2 it's a great deal but if the rebate doesn't show up you have just spent $25 on a rather weak power supply and that money could buy a great PSU for $30-$35.

Bottom Line: Spend $30 and get a good PSU.

I have Dell dimension 4550 which uses 250 watt psu and it blew up a week ago. I am trying to find a power supply that can be fit into the case. I am having hard time finding a cheap psu that has no on/off switch in the back. Does this power supply have a on/off switch in the back.

Yes it does have a switch.

Why not buy a new case and then you can use a standard PSU.

Would i be able to move all the stuff, mother board etc from dell dimension 4550 to a new case? Would i need to do any soldering and stuff?

I'm on my 4th that I have to call in after 4 months. I do not call that a good track record considering Mad Dog requires you to register before hand.

Out of 6 MD rebates I have gotten 2. That is NOT a good rep for rebates and I mail mine in 3 days after buying.
