A couple of days ago she had a major stroke, and the left side of her body is completely paralyzed, along with her right arm. She's at home in a hospital bed where they have her on a morphine drip, but no food or water. She's not in any pain, but it's only a matter of time before she's gone.

She's 91, and I hope she goes to a good place. She's a good person, who has had a good life.

I went through this a few years ago. Everyone thought my grandmother was gonna die but she survived and lived two more years until 93. Good luck to you and your grandma.

I know how difficult this time can be. My mom works as a hospice nurse, on top of caring for 2 of our older relatives that are in her house on hospice as well. My grandfather is expected to pass within the next week, and my great aunt is slowly passing from cancer spread throughout her body. She goes to radiation but only so she can walk. One of the lumps is in her spine.

That's what to keep in mind. Wish both you and her the best.

We should all be so lucky to have seen what she has in her life. Born into the WW1 as part of the first true generation after the devolopment of the industrial revolution, she lived through the roaring 20's, radio, prohibition, the great depression, TV, air travel, WW2, the nuclear age, the space age, the computer age, civil rights movement, the internet, genetics. I'm sure I missed more than a few important passings in there, but she lived during IMHO the most exciting period in human history.

It was not until shortly before she was born the average day to day activities of most people were no different than their parents, or their forefathers of hundreds or even a thousand years ago. Life was a daily struggle to provide the most basic of necessities. This lucky woman got to experience and contribute to something that might not happen for another 1,000 years, a period a of profound change and advancement of humanity.

So sorry about your grandmother. Sincerely hope she is able to recover and share a bit more of her amazing life with her loved ones.

91 years, I'll be happy if I ever reach that age. Lost both grandmas who were 96 (father side) and 87 (mother side).
