My poor geforce

I have an Asus geforce 256 32Mb DDR. Kept trying to update driver from original v.3.75 using both Nvidia detonator and asus drivers with no success. followed all procedures for updating. System would never recognize the driver that i would browse direct it to.
Thought it might be a bios problem, so I attempted to flash it using updated video bios on Asus's web site. That would not install I aborted the attempt. on reboot there was no picture. Pissed off I bought a Radeon 64 DDR. I would like to know if a funeral is in order or whether my old friend can be resurrected.

RMA = return materials authorization or something similar. Basically will they replace it?
