I have decided to weblog my photography from now on. It will help me focus on my projects and goals. I will post my work, write mini product reviews, and I am looking forward to dissecting some of my image editing with before and after. For my first before and after look, I am thinking of showing my convoluted process on how I got the B&W image for wedding no. 2 here

Chime in with comments, better yet...post them to my site.
More then new content is coming, my friend loves editing CSS, so it will change for something more unique very soon.

How'd you go about getting your wedding jobs? Via friends, or advertising? I'm actually not even sure how much wedding photogs charge... could it be done as a weekend job on top of a regular week job?

Friends. I know one that is phenomenal, and he recommended me to a few places. And yes, it's a weekend job, easy to juggle if you work for a studio. Folks doing it on there own usually have it as their primary job.
When I start a business, I am not totally sure if weddings will be my primary service.

I've seen it done as a weekend job. Friend of mine was at a wedding and the photog's primary camera was an XT/i with the kit lens. Now, I know it's not just the camera, but I will guess that person was just starting out, and no doubt a weekend shooter.

When I was looking up tips to shoot my friend's wedding (they just sort of turned to me and said I was a backup if the person they got flaked) I came across a ton of folks who did it in their spare time. some were trying to get their foot in the door, some just really enjoyed doing it.

That is a thought that has crossed my mind as well, getting some good equipment and picking it up to have the equipment pay for itself :). Expensive hobbies need to pay for themselves :p.

Yeah, I thought about doing it too, but I'm not sure I can handle the wrath of an angry bride scorn, heh.
