Verizon XV6800 (Sprint Mogul) which is brand new. Have the standard 1500mAh battery which is supposed to be 14 days of standby time and 5 hours of continuous talk time. Initially the first few days I saw good battery life but now I'm seeing a full charge drop 40% in a work-day of near-zero usage. In other words, I had a full charge yesterday morning and 24 hours later it's down to 20% left.

It's on "sleep" which is basically leaving the phone on with the screen completely off. I am getting 0 bars even though calls are coming through okay everywhere in the house. My old Treo (also Verizon) used to get at least 2 bars everywhere in the house. Is this the primary cause of the battery draining? Other factors?

Do "running programs" (Windows Mobile 6 thing) affect it? Nothing related to media is running. In fact, I've kept the list pretty empty. No programs other than TCPMP player has been added but I have not used it and it's not running.

Bluetooth, wifi, and beam are all off all the time. The battery drain has been consistent over the last 3 recharge cycles.

Sounds like a leaky battery. Did you fully charge it when you first got it? As in charging it for an extra extended amount of time?

Did you update to the latest Rom/Radio? Other than that you'll probably need a replacement :(

- I had charged a full cycle before using it.
- How long do 1500mAh batteries usually last? Or how long does your Mogul last?
- No idea about latest ROM as I cannot find such a thing from HTC / Verizon support.
- How often do battery leaks happen in mobile phones? First I've heard of it and just wondering.
- No signal showing has nothing to do with battery drain?
- I can try buying the 2100mAh extended battery but don't know if it will help anything

I've gone through several HTC devices but I can't recall. Standby would last me a few days, but wouldn't go down to 20% in one day with no usage.
I'm not sure about the Mogul, but the Verizon radio(controls signal, carrier configs) could suck
Not sure, but my MDA after a closer two years of abuse has very bad leakage

Well, any phone will use more power to be connected with a weak connection with the tower, this could be your problem.

^^^ try using it in a different area with full bars, most likey you'll get better riskys
