My Personal UnrealTournament99 Server is Available

For anyone wanting to play some UT99 goodness again, my own server is now available.

You can obtain an ISO of UT99 GOTY from the Internet Archive and install the game quickly. You may want to install the 4th bonus pack for UT99 because it isn't included with the GOTY edition.

Once you have the game installed you will need to make some edits to the unrealtournament.ini file located in the system folder in the install folder.

Locate the section [UBrowserAll] and remove the gamspy entry if present.

then add these lines:

ListFactories[1]=UBrowser.UBrowserGSpyFact,MasterServerAddress=master.newbiesplayground.net,MasterServerTCPPort=28900,Region=0,GameName=ut
ListFactories[2]=UBrowser.UBrowserGSpyFact,MasterServerAddress=master.errorist.eu,MasterServerTCPPort=28900,Region=0,GameName=ut

This will re-enable online detection of servers.

If you want a different game renderer like a better OpenGL or DX10 there are mods for this.

My server's name is {CBGB} Clan Server

PS: it's a Deathmatch server

Be aware I added some mods like unlimited ammo, Relic of Regeneration, low gravity and a map vote.

The bots are set to adaptive learning and they are very skilled. My player is named {CBGB} Bone_Dog. If you see that player, it's me. 😉

Not all of my maps are on a redirect server. I will try to either fix or remove those that aren't.

So anyone is welcome to try out my server.

as far as I know, yes.

minimum version is 436. I am using 436 for my client. There are a number of community patches but I have never needed them.

My server runs version 451.

Bots are great fun as they can surprise you.

I also installed the HD Texture pack to my client. The difference is noticeable.

Hmm, wish I hadn’t decided to give up gaming for a year. Had lots of fun with UT99. My all time fav was UT2003 - but I was a beast in lg/ig +135% speed. Good luck!
