Ok...someone is a little over sensitive. And on the 4th one...your move was more dangerous than his. That was SOOO much time to see that and slow down or make a less aggressive lane change.

Yeah, you seem to be going fast on some of the urban streets.

Also, for number two. When turning left onto a four-lane road, you should stay in the left lane and signal into the right lane.

Approach the turn with your left wheels as close as possible to the center line. Enter the left lane, to the right of the center line. When traffic permits, you may move out of the left lane.

yeah these all look fairly minor. the last one with the ladder just seemed distracted for a second.

Only number two was a close call for you, and it was preceded by you turning into the wrong lane on a left turn. While the other videos weren't what I would call defensive driving, I'm shocked that they made such a lasting impression on you.

Yep...taken from the AZ driver's manual....

On a two-way road, approach the turn with
your car in the lane just to the right of the
center line. Turn just to the left of the center
point of the intersection. Enter the lane just
to the right of the center line. This avoids
conflict with other traffic making either right
or left turns.

Only the 2nd car going for the right on red seemed worthy of our attention. Give the guy the bird and honk that JC Whitney horn you took from this guy's pimpmobile...

Not it's not. It's a protected left. Good luck arguing that one.

As I understand it, a 'protected left' refers to the traffic light having a 'left turn' arrow....giving you right of way and protecting you from oncoming traffic.
What we are talking about is he widened out his turn and took the curb lane instead of the inside lane as required by law.
The other person still should have looked before coming over, but he also shouldn't have been in that lane to begin with.
Cheers.

In this case, had there been a collision that would be irrelevant. He was already in the right lane and the individual in the left lane changed from the left lane to the right.

This. Had it happened during the turn the OP would have been in trouble. But it happened well after the turn and was a simple case of the other driver not paying attention.

4th vid was lame, yeah the guy shouldn't have pulled out (rolling stop too) but there was plenty of time to slow down behind.

Some of the others don't look too terrible. Cutting across lanes isn't great but sometimes you have no choice. As long as it is clear, well... I'll bet the OP has done it at least once before 😉

Still the delicious irony is he's trying to point out how other cars drive poorly when he is driving poorly himself.

I'm not saying the other driver didn't do something wrong, just pointing out that the OP looks like a crappy driver himself 😛

Meh, those other drivers are rude assholes. Yes you could have slowed down earlier and all that jazz, but it's no excuse for these people that probably drive like that ALL the time.

I've been saying for awhile that we need some sort of 5th element type of system where you can report people like the people in your videos. Submit your recording along with tag to some public database and then charge insurance companies to access it. If "your" video is bought by insurance then the uploader gets a payout. With more and more dashcams/cellphones around I bet it would be a fairly effective system.

Seeing that type of driving almost comes normal to me which all goes back to the fact that driving in the United States is viewed as a right and not a privilege unlike some European countries where it costs over $1,000 and advanced driving courses.

But you basically need a license here to live and commute to work given the pathetic public transportation options outside of major cities which is why it has come to this.

In Texas that left turn into either lane would be okay (6-6 in handbook). Is that way in the state he was in?

The only real concern I say is, does the video camera block the view of the driver? Looks like it's hanging on the wind shield. For Texas, even having a hanging tag on mirror can be an infraction or reason to be pulled over, last I remember.

what kind of mount is that? and how much ? I have flip that I am looking to do something useful with.
