Might as well ask why YouTube exist?

One posts videos (or links to them) on discussion forums for a reason. The readers either click on them or don't. There's no reasons to ask "why" the original poster wanted to do it since the reason as to "why" should be obvious enough. It's YouTube, what do you do on YouTube... amongst other things you can also upload your self-created footage of... stuff... for people to... watch your stuff... you know... it's YouTube. And yeah that's regardless of whether or not you happen to be interested in actually clicking on the link(s) or not.

I'm just pointing at the "why" here, not the "yes please" nor the "no thanks". I mean if we potential YouTube users (uploaders) had to think for ourselves before uploading any of our videos if each time we'd do it most people out there won't give a rat's arse about them then we might as well not use YouTube at all. And so we wouldn't get stuff like Classic Game Room channels (or any channels and authors of known self-created work you can think of) because those guys would have shrugged off their own potential footage and wouldn't have uploaded anything to start with, out of "discouragement", due to most people not wanting to give said rat's arse about said self-created footage.

Why am I even explaining this...

*Goes back playing BL2*

if you really want to make youtube videos i would rather watch funny ones or videos with some catch to watch, not just the 15 minutes of the beginning of the game, there are plenty of videos like that.

I must say though that i didnt enter the links cause at work youtube is blocked, im talking from what other people answered to you.

Anyway, good luck with the video uploader job =P

Actually, lots of people. Problem with these videos is that there are tons of these videos for these games right at release. Maybe if you post system specs and use a frame rate counter it will be helpful for people who want to see relative performance for certain hardware at various graphics settings.

I put up a video doing the above for BF3, and it is one of my highest viewed videos.

BF3 has a built in fps viewer that you can enable. You can also use MSI Afterburner to display the framerate, then record normally in Fraps or DXtory. You might even be able to do this in Fraps or Dxtory, but with Afterburner you can change the size of the font which is better when recording at 1080p.

I have spent hours watching some guy abuse knives in his garage until they break.

I have spent time watching people "review" dip tobacco.

I have watched reviews of stuff I already bought and had sitting right infront of me.

All of it was better than anything prime time has to offer.

A video of someone playing a game is legit enough to watch.

I made the following video for your viewing pleasure:

I watch hours and hours of DayZ instead of actually playing it because ARMA sucks. Sometimes I watch the first few levels of games that I dont quite know if I want to buy. In my opinion its no different than watching TV.
