Since those are all retail in the photos, if any were from the early 90's they could've easily sold upwards of $50 at a store. The Marathon games, for example, were $70 for quite a few months at first, and took a year to drop down to $50.

Alright, $50 x 125 = he spent $6250

EDIT: I think I counted 128?

Actually... I didn't bother counting them. I didn't realize until after I put most of them away, and then I said screw it!

But, if you counted 128, I'll believe that. I have probably another 20-30 JC games that I didn't take pics of.

Prices are going to vary.. I paid top dollar for some of them (New release sims especially) that could have been $60 (CDN).. but others I got for next to nothing, and some of them (maybe 10) free.

I'd say probably average $20-30 game, by the time you average it out would probably be realistic.

A lot of people on ATOT play 2 hours of videogames a day. I know if my good computer wasn't broken atm I certainly would be.

The worst part? Honestly? I can probably count on my hands (no joke here) the games I've spent any measurable amount of time on.. and probably only some of the FPSs that I've played to conclusion.

The ones I've gone back to and spent time on are (lemme think)

IL2 Series
Silent Hunter III
Rise Of Nations Gold
Longbow 2 (back about 9-10 years??)
Various FPSs (half life, FEAR, Quake 1/2, Unreal, yadda)
NASCAR 2003
Caesar III
Battlezone 1/2 (1 espescially was a FANTASTIC game!)
Flight Sim 2004/2002 (no pic of 2002 - gave away)
Bridge Commander (never did finish it though)
Jetfighter III (IIRC the first game I bought after I got my shiny new P200 built and got back into PCs after my Amiga in the late 80s)

And that's about all thats really coming to mind.. I've probably only really "played" 80% of those games.

A few of them would be almost impossible to replace now.. even from eBay I suspect.

You mean First Person Shooters? I kind of like them.. not hardcore.. but I do like them somewhat. I am right in the middle of FEAR right now and enjoying it.

hah, i still haven't played hl2 for more than an hour:p i got it the first week it was out:p i have played cs source a decent bit though.

much easier to play old games on a console, they got the advantage there. pc games too much trouble. just as well, not really that interested in really playing old games anyways

Well, I have the room and if nothing else its a handy way to keep them with the manual and easy to find.

If I start to run out of room (I have all of these taking up "only" 2 shelves in my office closet) I may have to start scrapping some I guess.

She does.... she's a real sweetheart  But, she doesn't mind that much. I don't have any real bad habits, so if spending some scratch on my PC and games is the worst of my vices, she can live with that. If she knew how much it was in total though, I'm sure she wouldn't be happy though!

I have well over 200 games, but didn't keep the majority of the boxes.

My sentimental favorite is a D&D Gold Box edition of Dark Queen of Krynn. I still have the manual, map and receipt for the game (paid almost $50).
