Ok, this is whats goin on.
I got a7n8x rev 2.0. My old BIOS got corrupted, when i was UNDERclocking from 191 to 175. I strted dunderclocking because i suspected a virus, and needed to make sure that overclocked mem. wasnt causing that. Apparently, the virus corrupted my bios to the point, when only 100mhz operation was possible. So i flashed it to 1005. But now - i cant overclock over 175 mhz FSB.
These are my ideas:
-When i OC memory to 191 (cuz it shows up as 190 :) ) - the timings would set at 8-3-3-3 (i got PC2700). At these settings, the PC would restart without letting the OS to boot. If i make that 9-4-4-3 - OS boots, but the proggies would just close themselves (crash?). I heard that uppin the DDR voltage to 2.7 would help. Is this so?
-Also - how come i cant OC my cpu more than 2200 mhz? The OS wouldnt boot. It doesnt matter, if OC via the FSB, or just the multiplier.
Any suggestions?

Firstly, you locked your AGP to 66MHz, right? What voltage is your RAM at now? 2.7V is reasonable, that's what I run my Corsair at.

You're over your memory's rated speed, so it could be that (gasp) it just isn't going to run 20% faster than it's made to ;) Anyway, good luck :)

Also, what OSes are you running? Win98 doesn't like systems that are over a certain speed, believe it or not.

Yeah, i've locked the AGP bus at that.
Whats odd, is that on 1003 BIOS i've succesfully overclocked the memory to 200mhz (CPU mult at 11x - wont let me get above 2200mhz (?)), at 9-4-4-4. But performance wise seen no dfference between 191 8-3-3-3 - same 5500 memory marks in XP, and 5400 in winMe. Stability was awesome at both speeds. I've ran memory at 2.6 all the time. Im surprosed how it worked. I just was testing how far (in "sane" way) can my pc go. Then - when i was satisfied - i underclocked - and bam - BIOS checksom error (???!). "Memoey test failed" said the post lady, yet pc would boot! (at 100mhz tho). What happened to it - was beyond me. But my memory was fine. And when i flashed to 1005 - it was able to work at 175 again (7-3-3-3, get 4900 memmarks in WinMe, 5220 in winxp) linkie to futuremark
Now it just cant go above 175 without errors/instabilities. Awkwardness all around.
I guess ill try 2.7, - i mean, logically, it should help the memory thats over its speed (as opposed to 3200 memory).
Thanks!

175MHz is not underclocking, guy :) The memory's only made to go 166MHz. Or did you mean that it's gone faster in the past, so 175 ought to be safe?

Interestingly, I've heard of getting over 190MHz out of Crucial PC2100 modules on nForce2, so who knows :) Sounds to me like you'd be a good candidate for PC3200, anyway.

Thanks!
But how come CPU dont go beyond 2200?! I hear people OC'ing their Bartons 2500 to unimaginable speeds WITHOUT unlocking them. Wassup with my CPU? Is it "special" :)))

Another person buys a CPU expecting an overclock. Another person disappointed. Will you people ever learn that OC'ing is a bonus rather than a standard thing for a CPU to do. If your CPU was meant to run 30% higher than stock speed, why waste time selling it underclocked?
