PCP&C is surprisingly not recommended on this forum as much as it should, they make the best PSUs out there, I'd get one of those as it should be the last thing you'd have to worry about.

So if it hangs on POST then it must be hanging on a certain componant. I'm now guessing CPU which I hope not.

As for PC&C, just too expensive. I don't see Antec any better or worse than Fortron. Haven't heard of too many Antec's dying, but then again, I don't know alot of people that have them. Constantly checking people's sig's to see what PSU they have. Anyways, I'm keeping my eyes open.

Any suggestions on which PSU to get? The Antec was only $99.
"too expensive", you certainly won't be saying that when your system gets fried by your PSU. I know they're expensive, I would have recommended antec but it appears they're not doing so hot anymore, and the ones people recommend on this forum aren't much better (maybe even worse) so if you want peace of mind with no doubts about it, get a PCP&C PSU.

The pain of my system getting fried has left a bad taste in my mouth. So you have convinced me to look somewhere else for my PSU needs & security. I was thinking of this PSU. Tell me what you guys think, all comments are welcome.

610W seems a bit overkill, what do you plan to have in this system anyways? IIRC the lowest PCP&C power supply they make is 500w? If they make a lower wattage like 450W version as well, I'd get that instead but again I can't tell unless I know what you're going to be building.

Ok, let me get this right. You suggest a PC Power & Cooling PSU, so I pick out the lowest priced one, and you say it's overkill? lol you are confusing me bro!!! Stop it! haha

Not to mention I used some online PSU calculator with 20% degredation on the caps, extra drives, overclocked CPU and all fans and such it came to 603W. Altho I may never upgrade that much, or add that much hardware in the future, it will give me longer lifespan :)

As For my rig (which is in the opening post as another stated):

Intel E6400 <-- gonna try for 3.2 OC

Scythe Infinity HSF

Asus P5B-Deluxe

Team Group DDR2-800 4-4-4-10 <--Sweet a$$ RAM!! :D

Asus 1900XT

Seagate 160GB 3GB/s

Lite-on Dual layer DVD RW

Floppy

Cooler Master Mystique Case (2x120mm fans)

You should be perfectly fine with Seasonic S12-500W or 600W and it may be cheaper. And when that calculator say you need 600W:roll: in reality you need less than 500W for that rig.

EDIT: just look at that components there is no way they could eat 600W - you are not buying Prescot with dual GPU:confused:

So look at Seasonics they are top PSU - google for some reviews and you´ll see. They are reliable and silent and if you want overkill get their 600 or 700W models.

I have no doubt in my mind that they are of top quality. I just know that PC Power & Cooling has atleast as good or better reputation. The extra money spent is worth it to me. But I do thank you for your input and suggestions :)

Yeah its your choice. PC Power & Cooling PSUs are also top - and you are lucky where I live we have lots of taxes on anything so if something costs 170USD in States here it´d cost at least 220USD:|:(

JohnnyGuru.com reviewed the 700w unit I think it was. Might have been the 600w unit. I forget. I like his reviews. I'm seeing posts with people using the GameXStreme 700w now so I guess they must be pretty decent. Havent heard anything bad yet about them anyway.
