My parents are moving in with me!

They sold their house and the buyer takes possession March 25.

They haven't found a new house yet.

So until they do, they're moving into a spare bedroom in my place.

The good news is that we get along, and they're just as thrilled about this arrangement as I am, so hopefully they'll find a new place soon.

I get mom's cooking and rent.

I still hope this is short-lived.

They raised you to where you're right now and I believe you should be more loyal to them. Your parents needs your help right now and you're not too keen to help them? How many times have they helped you get over different hurdles of your life?

hahaha. Well this is your chance to enjoy living with your parents like you did in childhood again. I'm sure your mom's cooking is better for you than whatever you're eating on regular basis.

I've been chomping at the bit to use that one. I can't wait! "Listen here buster! As long as you're living under my roof, you're living by MY RULES!"

To everyone else: this is just one of life's little ironies. Yes, I'm cool with it even if the idea doesn't exactly thrill me. My parents are cool and I get along with 'em. It'll be interesting at the least.

And yes, you're damned skippy I'm charging 'em rent! They charged me rent when I had to move in with them between graduating college and finding a living wage, they get to pay rent in my place. Of course, rent will be on very favorable terms.

Yes, mom's cooking will probably be better for me than my current strict diet of eating anything that can be cooked in a microwave.

A cash reward is offered to anyone who can find them a house to buy.
 
why you mad about it? they had you live in their house for most of your life, its the least you could do to let them stay with you for a while.


 
I'm cool with my folks also, my mom and I get along great. My dad on the other hand drives me bonkers. We're so much alike that if we live together we drive each other crazy.
 
houses in hyde park here in austin for about $300000. 2/2s on 1/4 acre lots. most don't have garages.
 
You forgot one thing, rent only starts after 18 years. Do you really want your parents to live with you for more than 18 years so you can charge them rent?
 
This is just too good! Now you get to tell them that they have to be home by midnight, and that if they're going to stay out later, they need to call and check in.. Also, they're not allowed to have guests of the opposite sex to stay overnight, etc...
 
If you go away for the weekend, make sure you get them a baby sitter. They might throw a loud party with ALCOHOL and members of the opposite sex! :Q
