(yes this is a gripe :p)

i just found out my math mark... 61%! the whole term was based on two tests, one of which i got a migrane halfway through and flunked because of it, and the other was just stupid on my part(my mind went blank, so i did what i could figure how to do, and the second i handed it in, i rememebred everything :|) not to mention my parents expect high 80's-90's...

should i tell them now, or wait until they see my report card?

i also forgot to say, i know how to do all of the work. the work we're doing now is really easy, i just sucked on the tests. all of my homework is correct(when i did it) and because i didn't always do the homework it's going to look like that was why i got such a bad mark, and i'm gonna end up doing extra work on something i easily understand... :|

Well, if you've got a trusted Taxidermist friend...You could just kill your parents and have them stuffed. Then they would still be around but the pressure to perform to THEIR expectations will be nil, since they're dead and all.

actually, i would tell them now. i had a gf once, and held off telling them because it wasn't a good time... and they got mad when they found out we had been together for so long. they might also get mad at you for holding it from them.

I would be up front with them and tell them now. Why wait? It will just bother you until you do tell them. You know they are going to be upset, so just get it over with! Oh, and good luck toph99! :)

Parents can't do sh!t to you. They're powerless if you don't fear them. In a normal society at least.

Do whatever you want.

All parents need to realize sooner or later that all students aren't perfect and won't get perfect grades. In my case, it helped that I'm going to one of the top HSes in the country so they realized that I couldn't get all A's like I used to.

Your parent shouldn't only be angry with you, but they should be angry with them self as well.

If I were your parent I would be disappointed, because I should have paid closer attention to my child & family.

You should try to talk to your parents, teacher, and friends to help with the schoolwork.

I have tutored math & chemistry classes and found the common errors that the student make is because they didn?t have a strong understanding of the basic math skill that were misses earlier in their study. With some work, your teacher, parent & yourself will identify the faulty area, and the rest will all depend on your effort & willingness to work hard for a better grade.

it wasn't that i was having difficulty with math(i won the math science and tech award at grade 8 grad) it's just that on the two tests that we have i was just havin bad days, one day i had a migrane and the other i was just out of it. i am usually the one tutoring the other students ;)

well i talked to my mom and she must be having on hell of a good day because she actually didn't flip out. wow :D

Man, my comment shouldn't be 'disturbing' people as much as the fact that Toph99 has a BIGGER issue with telling his parents about the score, over GETTING the score.

Sounds to me like a person under some parental pressure.

In any case, tell them ASAP! The longer you wait, the BIGGER your fear of their reaction will grow. Get it over with NOW.

did you get that taxidermist idea from watching Jackass? the one where the guy (johnny knoxville?) tries to find a taxidermist who's willing to stuff the guy's grandma after she passes away. it was hilarious. my gf can't believe i love the show so much. must be a guy thing, cuz all my guy friends love the show, while all the female ones don't.

whatever you do dont drink and drive.

seems like you are in lower grade (jr.high?). since u say u know everything well, but not do good on tests, talk to your teacher. It would be unfair for other kids if u can retake the test but if you truely know the material teacher will notice that too and you guys can probably work something out. But i am not sure that you know the material that well. failed test cause of a migrain?! .... that's almost laughable..

my midterm grade in advanced calc is unfortunately lower.

yes i know the stuff, my proofs were not rigorous enough, nor were then 100% correct. damn typos...

i took my abstract algebra midterm was yesterday (wednesday) don't know score...
