My parents are all pissed off at me about me drinking

im 20 years old, they have made me drinks before, and i have drank with my dad.

however the other night i walked home, a lil tipsy, and my dad noticed it when i walked into my room. and now they are all pissed off saying i shouldnt be drinking, and its illegal, and that im not allowed to.

is there a double standard here or what.

You should call someone and get some help. Seriously - you probably need to go through detox.

"is there a double standard here or what."

Yes there is. Your parents love you, nobody else gives a damn.

Yeah, that kinda sucks, but you are under 21 and you are living in their house, so you gotta be stealthy about it or not do it at all till you're 21.

In addition; parents are more willing to let their children drink underage when they're at home. In Canada, you're legally allowed to drink at home at 18, but you have to be 19 to buy. Parents hope that by allowing you to drink at home when you're younger, you won't be going out and getting "tipsy" and try to walk home. Their state of mind is that you have a good chance of getting your sh!t killed if you're drunk enough. Parents protect their children; that's what they do.

As far as I'm concerned drink all you want, you are over 18. Just don't drive a car after doing it and I could not care less if you drink. The law never should have been changed.

O RLY?

yeah, me too. 🙂

Cry me a river. Sheesh. I'd love to have been a spoiled brat like that and could complain about stupid stuff. If only my life were so nice that my #1 complaint is that my parents care too much about me.

Go step in front of a speeding truck already.

Well, at least you didn't drive the Ta-Ho... you might have taken out some people.

The answer to that question is another question: Why are you still living at home at age 20?
