My palm pilot got ran over by a car....

I was dropping a friend off after a concert last night and I guess it fell out of my pocket. It got returned to me today by someone from my development, they pieced together who it belonged to from the random slips of paper in the case, one of them had my first name on it but besides that they went by knowing a few things about me (stuff from my church, a business card from an engineering college, stuff like that). Anyways, it didn't work when they found it and for good reason. At first glance it looks fine, but when you handle it you can see that the plastic casing has been really pressed on, the bottom piece has popped out slightly on one side. The screen has two dark points on it where I guess something pressed on it when it got run over. I assume it got run over because of three things...
1. It appears to have been squashed
2. It was dropped and found in the road
3. The leather case has an imprint of asphalt on one side

The loss of the palm pilot doesn't bug me as much as the phone numbers and stuff in it. There's some I won't be able to get again... I've already emailed palm to see if I can send it away and see if they can rescue anything. What a bad day. I'm going to bed.

Get a new one and sync it on your computer

What, you don't sync your palm?

Just an m100 but I only used it for adresses and phone numbers, it was all I needed. I'll probably get a new one, hopefully a thinner one but I just really want my contacts off that one...

If you've synced the pda sometime recently (pre-car incident), you'll have all the addresses except anything you entered after you synced it.

The software I have didn't work with XP. Since I never let it run out of batteries I never thought that it would be a problem. I've NEVER dropped it before, this took me by surprise.
