My roomate just came home and told me that he actually voted for Bush. All along, he said he was voting for Gore, and I really thought he would. I've been battling with him for a while about it, but I basically gave up. Last night a few people including myself were really harassing him when we went out for a few beers. He claims that was not a factor. He gave me a half-hour explanation as to why he changed his mind.

I wonder how many others across the counrty had a similar change of heart...

Without going into the details, why did he change his mind?

Well at least we know his brain is finally functioning again. If he voted for Gore that would just be a sad thing.

He said that he was going back and forth all along. He has voted for Republicans in the past, both locally and on the national level. He voted for Reagan and Bush, Sr. and does like some of the local Republicans here (except for Arlen Sphincter, who I despise as well).

What it came down to is that he felt that Bush had better intentions, and that maybe Bush was better qualified because he is governor of a large state. Gore was in the Senate, and he is the vice-president. But, he was never the man-in-charge.

Good to hear. Just found out my stupid girlfriend voted for Nader because she wanted a third party in 2004. Dumb beyatch. Libertarian is the only real third choice. Green is just Dems on steroids.

I really wonder if people who are voting Green realize how extreme some of their ideas are... like abolishing the Senate! :Q Nader is NOT a true Green Party candidate, he is just running under their banner.

Or better yet... tell her that you called her a "dumb beyatch" for having her own opinion and voting accordingly. Would she have still been said "dumb beyatch" if she voted the same as you, Dirk?

lol come on now....my Dad's a conservitive Republican, yet he voted for Gore. I just agree with Gore more....I took some test that asked you politcal questions, Gore agreed with me on 85% of them, bush only 40. So that's obviously who I'd vote for.

Yea but see over half the stuff Gore says is a lie .. so you probably were only 40 percent compatible with him too ... I would just rather now have another lieing jerk in the head position ... Internationally Americans looked like idiots because of Clinton. I don't want Gore to have the chance to make us look stupid yet again ... Gore's own people admit that Gore has a bad habit of "Stretching the truth". If his own people will admit it .. you know its bad.

They were doing a show on NPR a few weeks back asking folks in Tennessee, I believe it was, who they planned to vote for.

One guy said he didn't think he could stand to listen to Gore talk to him like he was a fifth grader for the next four years.

I think the guy nailed it. Gore talks down to everyone. Like he has to explain it real slow and simple so we can understand.

Just so you guys know, Arlen Sphincter is the Senator who was on the Warren Commission. He is famous for the "magic bullet" theory that he pulled from his ass and fed to the American people. Hence why I call him Arlen Sphincter.

She didn't like even of the Big Two, didn't want to vote for "lesser of two evils" and wanted a third party in 2004. I respect that, but just think that she would've been better served by the Libertarians. The Greens are just the Ultra-Democrats.

In fact, win or lose, I forsee going full-tilt Libertarian after this race. I haven't voted FOR the GOP since 1988. (Voted Perot in '92 and then anti-Democrat since then.)

It's too bad that so many people believe in lies or think that the government is Santa Claus.
