My Overclock

ok, this is my first overclock and I just wanted to do a little bit in orderer to coincide a bit better with my 7800gt. My goal is just 2.2GHz.

The thing is I have 4 sticks of pc3200 RAM. Because of this, in my BIOS the RAM is detected at 333 or PC2700 Speeds.

So when I did my overclock I just changed the LDT/HTT multiplier to 4x and increased the FSB to 220.

I left the divider alone which increased my RAM speed obviously and brought it up to 367 or 183.5 in CPU-Z. I figure 183.5 is better than the 167 it was running at without an overclock even though it is still underclocked a bit (seems unavoidable)

I left my timings alone and on auto and have run the Prime95 Torture Test for 9 and a half hours so far with every test being passed.

So my question is does everything seem correct? I don't really want to overclock any higher at this point

Yup, looks perfect to me... If it's stable, it's ok... You should have to raise your HTT to 240MHz in order to get the full 200MHz on the mem... Would equal an AMD A64 3800+ instead of a 3500+ now... ;) Maybe give it a try...

cool thanks, yea, i will definatley try overclocking some more sometime down the road.

Does the Prime95 "Torture Test" Test everything?? I thought it does include the RAM but im not 100% sure.

Even though I really shouldnt worry about testing the RAM as it is blatantly underclocked.

But I think the Torture test should cover it all, right??

When Im under the tast manager it does say that my CPU utilization is at 100%, and my max temp so far under load has been 41 C.

Nice temps! To test your RAM, you'd have to let Prime run its "blended test"... However, seeing that it's underclocked, there will be no problems... Prime's torturing method for maximum heat is with "In-Place Large FFT's"...

My favourite method of stress testing however, is with OCCT... It stresses your whole system, and even more than Prime does...

yea, im still going with this prime95 test. I will probably end soon.

I am also running the S&M test at the same time. I just passed the CPU portion under 100% load, now its on the memory part. Again, this is while running prime95 at the same time.
