Thank you for reading my post! I've been overclocking my 175 and this is what I have so far:

I'm not going for 2.9 or anything that extreme, as I do not have watercooling. This is what I have so far:

2.6 GHz
CPU freq. 260
multiplier: 10x
CPU volts: 1.4
HT bus @ 1044 MHz w/ 4x multiplier obviously

RAM 217MHz DDR 333 "divider" <---I loosened timings to get them above 200
timing: 2.5-3-3-8 1T
volts: 2.75

Is there anything you guys think I should do to improve this? My idle temps are 33*, load about 44* for the CPU.

That's average. Change the '8' in your memory timings to '7'. Anandtech says 7 is optimal.

That's a pretty good OC for 1MB L2 cache. However what really gets difficult is OC'ing above 2.6GHz. From my experience, up to 2.6~2.65 was done with stock voltage, but after that I had to up the voltage quite a bit.

From my limited experience of o/c my 3800+ ~2.6Ghz is where I hit the wall. I couldn't get it to run stable on more than 2.65 @ 1.45V and during my tries to get higher (or maybe already here) windows got corrupted and I needed to re-install. So currently I'm back to 2.4Ghz and will run at that speed for some time. So my advice is to be happy with your 2.6Ghz and saty at that. Personally I couldn't resist to try to go for more, but it cost me a re-install, which ofcourse isn't so bad as I now know the limit of my CPU.

Thank you very much for the replies everyone! It makes me feel much better with the OC. I am astonished at the performance leap I have made with this upgrade,

Yes, 2.6-2.7 with 1.45 is where most people hit their walls. At least thats where I hit mine with my former x2.

It's a CABWE 0534 I believe.... I did look when I installed but now I forget. I actually did not hit a "wall" as the first time I OC'd it with an 11x multiplier, I booted into windows at 2.9 by accident, with 1.5v, I applied the settings I had with my last 3200+ accidently. How stable it would remain at 2.9 is unknown as I quickly exited lol!
