Because they are no longer located next to each other on the motherboard. In ATX they are in the worst possible place they could be.how will the CPU and GPU be further apart?
BTX has been in the works long before the A64 came out.and no, i don't think Intel is intentionally trying to inhibit AMD, its just a convenient side effect.
