Ok, I just wanted to say somethings about these forums....

First, i have been using anandtech, for years, but just started using the forums, and have been a member of many forums, and am the moderator of an automotive forum online...

Now the good thing is the amount of members and very partipative members....everyone here is a great help, and there are quick responses to all questions...thats hard to find on forums online in any arena...

the bad....some of you guys are a little rude...and jump on people too quickly for stuff...

I posted a thread asking how muc ha computer might be worth, and it was right on the money on what I wanted to charge, but first it was locked, saying the wrong forum (so why not move it) well, then Im told I cant ask....WTF...what you mean I can't ask...that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard....something about...don't ask us whats it worth and then charge the high price...

Seriously...thats rediclous, first i dont think many here would be interested, just cause its a simple machine, and 2nd, its just stupid, I wanna get it at a good price for something that owuld be a good deal, and also get my money's worth or potential...its almost like you want people who don't know resale values to just blindly post something under priced so you can practically steal it from them


and another thing, just cause you know something, doesn't mean everyone else does,

AND, no one who is going to post, espically a new person, is going to READ over 2 pages a rambling rules before they do....

if this is in the wrong area, please move it, i think this is the right plcae though
 
They don't allow price checks because they don't want AnandTech to turn into another ebay. If you want to do price checks, search on ebay and other sites to see what the going price for something is. Yes, some people are rude. Sometimes they are rude for no reason, and sometimes they may be short about something because the answer is obvious and would be in front of your face if you had spent half the time searching that you spent typing the post to ask the question.

In conclusion, some things should change, I agree, but some things are the way they are, and are going to continue to be that way for what length of time my crystal ball is accurate for.
 
hmmm wel lthat makes since the whole ebay thing.... i guess with a forum that has this man ymemebrs and is used so often i can see that.....

its jsu tahrd to price check a complete system, plus this is a computer forum, mainly hardware, so it be a great place ot get vlaues, especially with al lthe people who work in the industry here...
 
It's ridiculous that people do not read the rules. It's ridiculous that some people are so thin skinned they cannot take a bit of the flaming that happens online. It's ridiculous how poor the English classes are in NC. 😕

I was not trying to be rude. I was actually being nice. You asked why there was no price checks in the General Hardware Forum, so I pointed you to the right forum to ask. If I bewildered you or disrespected you in anyway, I apologize.
