My old laptop (Dell 3537) fell into water 2 years ago and could not be saved. The battery is there but never used after that. Today I gave it to a friend and he says it's not charging. Is there a way to save it?
Many chargers will refuse to charge a Li-ion battery if its voltage has dropped too low. Although it is sometimes possible to force-charge such a dead battery to revive it, doing so on one that has been flat for very long may overheat it (with resultant fire or explosion). Just buy a new one.
Just the battery only. I removed the HDD and RAM, they are working fine.
Laptop was under water for about 2 hours. (It was in the car until the car was pulled out of the river.)
