MY OCZ DIESEL 16 GB USB Flash Drive is Non Bootable

This is the only USB flash drive I've ever owned that is not recognised by the BIOS of any of my computers. This makes it impossible to use it as a boot drive.
Can any shed some light on this?
Thanks.

BIOS usually have problems recognizing USB drives over 4gb for booting, at least in my experience. If you can grab a 512mb one (if you can still find them), they make quite a nice boot drives.

Have you enabled (in your BIOS boot priority list) the thumb drive as the first bootable device? Some motherboards will not boot on any USB device unless it is enabled as the #1 device in priority (followed by your CD/DVD drive, then HDD, etc).

Double check your bios setting for the bootable devices.

Usually even when its not on boot list, they still show up when you bring up a Boot prompt (F12 for my motherboard)

somethingsketchy--I did say that all of my computer's BIOS do not recognize the Diesel, in other words, it is not in my BIOS boot priority list.
zerogear--I'll try your suggestion.

zerogear---I did try your suggestion and it worked up to the point of listing the Diesel, but after I selected it and hit Enter, it did not boot to it. Thanks anyway.

I tried returning it to New Egg and found that it was a, "Non-Refundable 30 day`return for replacement only" thingy. I,ll probably try and sell it for $12 including shipping.

Yes indeed, I intended to run Linux ubuntu from this drive in a very small form factor case. Linux did install to this drive and made it bootable. However it would not boot. I then formatted it in a XP machine and had Acronis install True Image to this drive and make it bootable (as I had successfully done with both a 2 & 4 GB USB drive). This Diesel would would not boot.
The drive seems fast and I'm very disappointed. I believe you are right in in stating that flash drives above 4 GB don't boot.
