My Nightmare getting PC running *URGENT*

Okay, I had an Asus K8V SE Deluxe, AMD 64 3200+, gig of ram, 6800GT and Antec 550W power supply. To make a long story short, that stopped working so I figured it was the power supply. Sure enough, it wasnt and it was the motherboard. I ordered a DFI UT Lanparty motherboard and hooked if up with the following specs:

AMD 64 3200+ (previously overclocked to 2.4ghz on my old mobo, could that be a problem?)
DFI Lanparty UT
1024MB Corsair XMS Ram
eVGA 6800GT
Antec 550w PSU

Okay, I dont know what the hell the problem is. Everything is connected properly. I have both the 4 and 12 pin connectors in properly. I turn the system on, and everything is up and running, but I am not getting any video signal to the monitor. Everything is plugged in properly. I even tried a 9800 Pro to make sure the video card wasnt the problem, and sure enough it wasnt and the board just will not post. I can feel the parts all over the board getting hot, and the heatsink for the processor with some heat as well. Is there anything I can do? I first tried buying a new powersupply, to a new motherboard, and now what? Am I just **** out of luck?

Is there ANYTHING I can try to get this thing working? I beg of your assistance, and anyone who finds a solution to this I will paypal them $25.00 or something for their time and support.

I dont believe DFI has a support line or anything, so that REALLY sucks, and what sucks even worse is that newegg wont cover it now, so I dont know what to do. DFI has some email thing, but I feel I should ask here first.

Again, any help is appriciated. Thank you so much in advance!!

Your previously oc'd processor is not the prob. Trial and error; GFX card seated properly? ->When you push power button you get no video so do you have a reset button? If so, try it after you power on. -> Everything ok with monitor? You built correct? No dropped screws or metal objects floatin around in there? Could be a short on mobo. Try these and I would most definitely email DFI and give them all the info you can. GLuck🙂

The monitor is fine.

I know it was the motherboard, because my old motherboard would die after a split second with the 4-pin ATX connector plugged in. This one everything spins and appears to be working with the 4-pin connector plugged in, besides the fact that it will NOT post.

How do I clear the Bios? The manual doesent cover anything what so ever. Everything is seated and connected properly. I still can not believe that this is happening.

thanks for the replys.

Okay thanks Ill try taking out the battery for 10 minutes.

How do I clear the CMOS? Would that do anything is the board has never worked yet?

thanks for the quick replys guys, i really appriciate the help 🙂

clearing the cmos is the same thing as i said....just take out the battery for a while..see what that does for ya. 😉

To clear my CMOS on the A8V deluxe I have to change the jumper setting (in your manual) and take the battery out for 10 seconds , replace the battery, then put jumper back to original position. Im not too familiar with your mobo.

Srry didnt read that your manual does not tell you about the CMOS. I would be very shocked if that was not covered in your manual. 🙂

It shows the position of the jumpers in the manual to set it to CLEAR. doesnt say what to do at all.

Put the battery in after 10 minutes. Didnt work 🙁

Thanks anyway. I just have no idea what to do.

hmmm srry it no workin for you know that is frustrating. You changed jumper, took battery out, put jumper back, then tried to power on? Dang :/ Email DFI Gluck.

I dont have the speaker connector hooked up to a case right now (not in a case because I took it out to troubleshoot easier) but when I did it never beeped or anything. Tried all that, and nothing has worked.

I guess I'll try to email them tomorow, I really cant spend much more time with this thing right now 🙁

Thanks for the help anyways. Im about to try a different monitor, but I know that the monitor works. I am on it right now on another computer. But, I will try just about anything..

reseat your memory, CPU, and video card. (take them out and put them back in). see if that does anything for you

Reseated them all about 5 times each 🙁

Still a no go. Thanks anyways. I still cant believe my luck lol 🙁

Look at it this way if it helps lol. You have $ to buy a pc. You are luckier than many. 🙂

did you hook the extra power connector to the video card...make sure the cpu fan header has a fan plugged into it as well. might be looking for one..

Yup, the power connector is plugged into the video card. Even tried another video card and still nothing. Ill try a PCI card tomorow if I can get a hold of one, to see if maybe the problem is the AGP slot.

I agree. Your AGP slot is probably fried.

Okay, well just as an update..

I brought my computer to a friends house, and we tried his processor on my setup, and it all worked perfectly. I guess I will have to call up AMD and find out about their warranties.
