She was my neice (my 1st cousin's daughter)...its like this:

My Mother <-> My Mother's Sister [REAL SISTERS]
=== |== ====== |=====
Me <-> My Cousin [1st COUSINS] ---> her daughter passed (so my niece)

or in other words: my Aunt's (mom's sister) Grand-daughter.

niece - a daughter of your brother or sister

She was my cousin sister's daughter.

PS: I dont have a brother or sister (only child of my parents), so I treat all my 1st cousins as my real brothers/sisters. I am the youngest in my family from my mother's side (everyone else is married except me...even some of my nephews/niece are married as they are about the same age as me). My cousin is in her 40s.

Ex:
A and B are real sisters.
A1 is me (A's Son)
B1 is my cousin (B's daughters)

B1's daughter was my niece
