Two weeks ago I noticed a 2 inch vertical brown line when I charged up my smartphone. Although I was a bit concerned, I ignored it and hoped for the best. Just last week as I was watching a video on You Tube I noticed two horizontal white lines at the top and bottom of my screen. The right side of my screen become unresponsive. The left part of my screen was fine which I thought was weird.

The phone has never been dropped. I treat it very well. Anyway, I called Google and they're going to send out a new phone to me soon.

What would cause this to happen? Could it be a hardware issue? What about a video issue? I do play games and I'll notice that the phone gets extremely hot.

I've had the phone since mid-December.

You really expect us to say what caused this?
Those devices are made to operate at certain temperatures even if they feel warm/hot to the touch. If it goes beyond those temperatures then it would throttle speed to reduce the temp.

It's just a faulty device...it happens in manufacturing.
