Cause not everyone wants to drive a 2 seater 4 cyl carYou don't seriously think cars that light are the norm do you?
Norm? Naw, I know most people drive cars much bigger than that, but I just think a sports car should weigh in at least under 3000lbs.
The MR2, Miata, and Mini are the lightest mass produced cars in the US market. They weigh from 2350-2450lbs.Originally posted by: vi_edit
Both of which weigh wayy too much. 2500 is more of a # to shoot for, even that is a bit much.
What? The S2000, which is one of the most stripped down(sports) cars you can buy in the US weighs in at 2800 pounds. The Porche Boxter S weighs in at 2900 and change.
If you want something lighter, go buy a kit car.
The Enzo Ferrari (or is it the Ferrari Enzo) doesn't even weigh under 3000lbs...in fact, a vast majority of F/R sports cars are over 3000lbs.Norm? Naw, I know most people drive cars much bigger than that, but I just think a sports car should weigh in at least under 3000lbs.

I liked the original Aussie one, but this one is just not quite the same, plus, the build quality will be below average ...
Do you know something we don't? Any links regarding the quality of Holdens or any pre-production version of the GTO?Originally posted by: imprezawrxwagon

Do you know anything about the Ford T-Bird '95 to '97 models?? those were sweet cars.
4 wheel all independent suspension, rear wheel drive with a v8 in the front. it handled well, it was a bit on the heavy side at 3800 lbs, but it wasn't designed to be a sports car. it was sweet tho.

Scootin, you've just got to remember that not everyone wants a European sort of sports car. Personally, I find that my 2,000 pound 914 is just about the perfect sports car. Not to say that a big brute of a muscle car isn't highly alluring to me.Originally posted by: Scootin159

Looks too much like a Grand Prix...there is NOTHING about that car that says "GTO"...it may be a wolf in sheeps clothing, but the GTO was never a subtle muscle car, its a disgrace to its muscle heritage.
Buy the new Mustang, at least it looks like muscle.
If I managed to get 200 hp from my 914 (which is more than double the stock power) I'd have to spend a lot of money. It takes a few thousand dollars to get a 914 engine up to 140 hp. If you want more, you're forced to go with a flat six and that's even more money.Originally posted by: Scootin159
True, I guess "the american way" is big displacement, 8 (or 10) cylinders, Front Engine, Rear Drive, and a big car.Originally posted by: Zenmervolt

BTW, you've got a 914? Sure it's not super powerful, but if you get that up to even 200hp it would be one serious challenge for most anything out there.

Oh really, how do you know this? The interior of this car is beautiful and looks to be top-notch... but I won't go as far as making actual statements about the quality until I go test drive one.
