Enjoy watching it depreciate.

Why would I care if I'm not going to sell it? Toys != investments

the 265HP 3.0L I6? nice....

Acura MDX squeezes 300HP out of a 3.7L V6 without a turbo.

And yea thats a nice ride rh71. I really like the MDX but I'll probably take one of these out for a test too.

IIRC, MDX 0-60 times are slower than the 260hp X5. But the MDX is a great value and nearly matches up. I think it needs more refinement though.

is the engine naturally aspirated 3.0 or the biturbo engine found on 335?
I've been waiting and waiting for the twin turbo from the 335 to appear in the X5 but they haven't done it and I couldn't wait any longer. It's still only a remote possibility for MY2009. The '09 X6 will only get the twin turbos (3.0 & 4.4) so I don't know what the hold up is here. They're releasing a twin turbo diesel X5 for MY2009 for the 1st time in the US though. Guinea pigging would be a bad idea, however.

Very nice car. How much out the door?
$61k. Uncle Sam cost me $5k of that.

Welcome to the Bimmer family, I got my 335i last June and love it.

Just don't drive like a snob, I hate it when other Bimmer drivers drives like an asshole which gives us a bad name.

umm . . .wrong forum? Either way, I love that car. Congratulations! While I haven't driven any Porsche or Ferrarris, of all the cars i've driven, Bimmers handle the best, by far. It's as if the tires are glued to the road.

I don't know why, but I never liked the X5, so I never really kept up on it - but damn, that new 08' model looks off the hook - odd that I think that, cuz the changes from previous models are subtle, but I freakin love it. It looks more aggressive now.

I also think you picked the best color. The white is simple, clean and for some reason, it really makes it stand out. If I could get one, I'd get white too, hands down.

If ya don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living?

I'm still going to drive my Rodeo to events where sticks and kids are flailing around in parking lots. ;) Besides, the bag smells really bad so that's not going anywhere near this one.

The re-design for '07 was sweet... I knew I had to have it but wanted to wait out the 1st year bugs (which are software fixes - thankfully). Timing was right too because it gave me another year to save up - someone had asked - yes it was a 'cash' deal. With interest rates the way they are, it wasn't worth doing a finance and hoping to make up for it with investments / savings accounts. I am a web dev'er but it's more about years of managing how/when to save/spend money. Time to start saving for the kids now, then we'll need a bigger house later.

Wow, that's a huge upgrade! Seriously, that's like going from a big wheel to an R1200R. ;)

A friend of mine has an X5 with the V8 and I'd have to say it is hands down the nicest SUV I've ever driven. Handling and road feel is excellent, brakes are excellent, luxurious, lots of power, and it just feels tight all around.

Congrats man. Nice ride.

I thought you hated SUVs.

True, I'm not a big fan of SUVs and think most people don't need them but the X5 is a sweet ride.
