My new view of Atlanta, GA

I've been in Atlanta for a while now, but when I first got here I was living about 15 miles outside of downtown, and that was a 1-2 hour commute depending on traffic.

I just moved into a new place in "midtown" about 5 blocks from my office. The condos are new, the entire wall is about 10' of glass, and so far it's been great.

View from my desk

View from down the street; the condo is in the glass building you see on the left

When I wake up I get a great view of the horizon, all the downtown buildings, and the sunset. Although I'd rather be home this isn't bad!

that is all good for a single person, but living in atlanta with a family means you either need massive $ for private school or you have to live outside the loop so then you get the 1-2 + hour drives each way

Yes sir, sure am. I actually think the north view is better as the buildings are more attractive, but the south view is less obstructed.

Man, I haven't been to Atlanta in a while.

How far are you from the Westin?

It's about 4-5 blocks from the office, so about 10 from my place. I could take a train and be there in a few minutes.

Where did you used to live? I'm about to move to Alpharetta at the end of April.

I used to work out of some offices in Alpharetta, so I was there for a few months. The client decided they wanted to work out of their main offices, so I found myself suddenly commuting downtown. No way am I willing to spend 2-3 hours a day commuting.

whenever i go downtown i want to shoot the other drivers. i don't think i could ever live there. thankfully the wife is getting a job up by the vinings so i will have no reason to venture down there anymore.
