If I wanted to do that, I could have done that with any of the several dozen knives in my collection already. Or maybe one of the three swords I have. Or maybe some of my other weapons like nunchucks, escrimas, police baton, blah blah blah blah blah.

;)

Yes, I could have. I'm working on that. This is hardly useless. All you idiots who think a knife is useless if it's not 100% practical are utter morons.

When did they start Ricing out Knives?!?

Word. What happened to just being able to buy a pointy object suitable for shanking? Everything's got to be all stainless steel with a funky tribal design on it. :p

That being said, the new local knife laws are fvcked. Anything that "can be opened with one hand" is now illegal. :|

Sh!t, I'd be screwed even with my purely stock Buck 112. All you have to be able to do is grip the back of the blade while closed... which is basically almost every side-opening pocketknife. And I guess my Microtech DA LCC is out of the question in Canuck-land.

What a practical blade!

I have practical knives. If I knife collector (me) only bought practical blades, he would only have one knife.

I dont know, all my knives are practical, just for different tasks. For example:
-Buck 112: Hunting knife, easy enough to clean, and has been beat to crap, so I dont mind getting gore on it while field dressing a kill.
-Kershaw Chive, with a glossy BC coating: it is a nice, small knife that I can carry around at dressier social functions without raising eyebrows.
-Benchmade 770S BC1: Nice, lightweight (due to CF), 154CM steel coated with BC. Serrated, but not big enough to scare the sheeple at work. My EDC when going to work.
-Microtech LCC D/A: about the biggest knife I want in my pocket all day (bigger knives go in a belt pouch). Nice ergonomics. It is relatively thick, extremely sharp 154CM serrated blade, and is, of course, D/A. Fairly light for it's size, too, since the rest of it is Ti and carbon fiber.

BTW, Nik, what is the coating on the blade?

I'm not sure. The Master Cutlery site requires user/pass to browse their catalog to find out. Oh well.

It is now, yes. I can shave with it now that I'm done with my butcher's block. Later, when I have more patience, I'll sit down with my honing stones.

I'm thinking about picking up a MT Halo or a Nemesis, too. And you can guess what area that would be practical in.

Looks like TiNi, maybe.
