So you arent suggesting giving back the AMD 4000+ and getting SLI but just to give back the AMD 4000+ and stay at that... See i was always going to get the 3500+ but as i was ordering it my mom said so is this top of the line.... and i replied "well its basically the sweet spot and it is vergy good but the top of the line is the FX-55 or the 4000+... she said, "oh, well since this is a mojor part of the PC you can get the better one"... You see this is my first new PC in like 3 years and this PC was not great when i got it... I am afraid to say the specs haha! (GeForce2 MX 400 32mb, 384 mb ram, P4 1.7 ghz, 2 30 gig crap HDD's, 12x DVD drive...) So my mom is feeling very generous this year and this PC has to last me for about 600 years ...




Oh and if you cant find an x800XT PCI-E in stock... i got mine from Zip Zoom Fly... It was the opposite for me, I wanted a geforce 6800 ultra PCI-Express but couldnt find one in stock so i went with the X800XT... was that a good decision?

depends on what games you're playing, if that's what your system is going to be for. looking at your specs, it would be a shame if that wasn't for gaming.

Keeping old mouse/keyboard, for some reason i can only type on this old Microsoft internet keyboard, oh well.

I had to pay for half of this my self, the total was still around 2k so I'm happy

Anyhow, SLI is silly at this point, after all 6800gt's are around 475-500 if you can find them (PCI-E versions that is) and you end up paying a ridiculous amount for an SLI board. X800's are better than 6800U's IMO, so I'd say you made the right choice, after all I made the same one.

Anyhow you should have gotten the FX-53 over the 4000+, they are the same chip, and with the FX you can say you have an FX, neiner neiner neiner.
