Stumbled across this on reddit last year and saw it pop up again this year. Figured it was worth the tinkering with. Never messed with a Pi before (never found a project interesting enough to me) and I'm fairly ignorant with python coding too. Thank god there's a "no solder" option. Ordered my parts today - should be smashing them and swearing by mid-March!

That's pretty sweet!

Hopefully! I have reservations about my abilities, but the developers in the slack channel seem very helpful. I got a 32x64 LED @ 3mm pitch. I couldn't decide where this would end up in my house so I just figured go with the smallest and hope of the best.

Very cool, you going to do a build log here or there?

Well, the github is pretty solid already. The slack channel has been more than helpful as well. Maybe as I go through it I will update this post? I guess I hadn't thought about doing that to be honest.

Don't forget you'll need a microSD for the Pi...assuming you already have that bit.

Yeah - I actually have a couple of smaller (older) ones laying around at home. Figured I'd just toss one of those in there. Thanks for the reminder though.
The one thing that bummed me out was needing a separate PSU for the Pi and the LED. Just takes away from keeping it a nice small, compact unit.

? It's all 5V so just use one for both. You'll have to do a little wiring but that should be easy.
