I ordered these parts, I can't wait to push it to the max!

-AMD Opteron 165 1.8GHZ 2MB L2 Cache

-DFI LANParty UT NF4 ULTRA-D

-OCZ EL Gold GX XTC PC4000 2GB

-Sapphire Radeon X1600XT 590MHZ 256MB 1.38GHZ DDR3

-Western Digital Raptor 74GB

-Western Digital Caviar Re 320GB SATA

-Thermaltake BigWater SE 12CM Liquid Cooling System

-OCZ PowerStream 520W - Thx to Kooldrew charming character

I really want to push for 3.0 Ghz do you guys think it's possible with this setup? Is the nF4 ultra-d capable of achieving 334 HTT/FSB easily? Should I change the NB cooler and I get a copper NB cooler?

I will post my results when I get my parts. :D

DFI Ultra-D has a good chance of reaching 334 fsb, since I can take mine past 323 FSB... It might be possible, but it all depends on how good your opteron stepping is... But I'd expect at least 2.6 GHz (I am running 2.7 GHz stock vcore :) on my opty)

Well it's because I'm water cooling it, so I thought that it would be easier for me to reach 3.0 Ghz. But at 334 FSB wouldn't the chipset heat up a lot at this frequency?

I definitely would of gotten cheaper RAM. That would've made room in your budget for things like a better video card. I also would not of chose that PSU and I definitely would not of chose the Thermaltake BigWater.

I don't understand why people insist on buying components and then asking us how it looks.

I think your DFI should be fine, but as you know getting to 3GHz is really contingent on 2 things: Your CPU and your cooling. Without knowing you stepping, it is a toss up how high it can reach. The Big Water SE is not renown for its cooling prowness but it has worked for others before, but I would still recommend something else.

I know that the big water is not the best water cooling solution but it's still better than any air cooling heatsink, don't you agree?. What's wrong with the OCZ Modstream?

What other solution would you recommend? I can ship it back you know. ;) :)

The OCZ Modstream is not "bad," but there are much better options. Especially at the price it is at. You can see a review of the modstream here

The Modstream has fairly limited +12v output, and as shown in the review, it has terrible cross-load tolerance and very poor regulation.

I can do It myself, but I could use some recommendation KoolDrew.

There are people other then myself that could give you much better recommendations. I would suggest looking at the stickys at XS and you could also ask around there.

What;s your budget like? ;)

Use this as a guide: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=75873

Around the same price range of the Bigwater cooler, I don't want to spend hundreds on cooling.[/quote]

If you are on a budget, here's a suggestions for you: try air cooling first. Some of the best air HSFs (Scythe Ninja, TT Big Typhoon, SI-120, etc.) will mimic the performance of ecoomical WC setups like the BW SE. Hell, my 2.9GHz does quite well with the Big TT right now! ;) If you're not satisfied then you can go to more elaborate WC setup when $$ comes.

Stop asking and do some research.

Go to the Liquid Cooling Forum over at XS and read EVERY word of EVERY sticky thats there, then come back (or stay there) and ask your questions.

the modstream is ok for your setup (should do just fine)
but the powerstream is a better buy (solid performance and rails)
i just tuned my rails in perfect with a multimeter when i got it and it has proved itself

Jesus you people are unbelievable! Fine I'll do my recherche. I'll get the OCZ powerstream and i'll give my brother the modstream. Happy KoolDrew!

I'm getting my parts on monday hopefully I'll start posting some results.
