EDIT: I didn't see how many HDs he specified. Still don't see the need for all that excess. I'd say he'll never end up building it.

I've got one 500 watt Seasonic for the hard drives and fans, and another 600w Seasonic for the system. After experiencing many problems with power supplies and my dual Xeons, I went to a dual PSU setup so that I wouldn't have to worry about power when I upgraded my system. And having 23 bays in my system, with dual power supplies, allows me a lot of room for expansion if I so choose.

EDIT: Excessive, maybe. But I'd rather be excessive that have to read another "I've got a Opteron 170 with dual 7800GT OCs... Will this $30 case & PSU combo work".

Yeah, I know about the advantages of using two PSUs, but I didn't see the need for a Seasonic 600W because I thought he'd have only a few hard drives.

His specs include 24 hard drives, which is definitley a cause for dual PSUs. My 500w Seasonic is powering 10 hard drives (in two SATA enclosures), 2 opticals, 10 fans (on two fan controllers), and a few cold cathode lights. My 600w is handling the dual procs, mobo, and video card, as well as the fans for the processors.
