I'm just curious... did you have a question or a concern you wanted help with? Or were you just telling us that you got a new video card?

Jeff
I would like to know what you think of this video card that was only $109 compared to other TI4400's , I read a review that this card is a great OC?
Thanks John

I don't have that particular Ti 4400 but I do own a 4800SE (same GPU, just AGP8X) and it is a great gamer. It overclocks to way past 4600 speeds and hasn't bombed out on any games I have tried to play with it. It should server you well IMHO.

NewEgg's refurb section clearly states you aren't guaranteed to get anything but the bare card (the only unique item that may be missing is the VIVO dongle; everything else, like the DVI-VGA adapter and DVD software, should be easy to find and cheap). Still, $110 for a Leadtek 4400 is a great price, games or no games, and NewEgg should offer great RMA service, if needed. Congrats.

Yes I just traded that same exact card for a 9700Pro(don't ask, good deal). Well I took the heatsinks off it and applied AS3 and then found some small screws to tightn the heatsink back down tighter than them push pin jobbies. Well stock the card runs at 275/552mhz I got my to run at 310/705mhz with the stock cooling, there is dual 80mm fans piggy backed blowing directly in from the side case panel though. Great card I was pulling a mid to high 13,000 range(3dmark2001) with mine, hit 14,200 once with super high system overclock. Now with my new 9700pro I jumped almost 4000points.

Very good card, but 9700 does blow it out of the water, for the price you paid its a good deal, might of been my card that I RMA'd a while back. 🙂

That's a great idea! Some nylon screws and nuts would be perfect here.

I just used the screws that came with the Smart Case Fan II boxes that attach the TT fan guard. Work good for attaching two fans together. I have a antec case and use a sidepanel fan on my Video Card, I was using a low RPM blue led 80mm, then I had a extra 80mm clear laying around so I used them same screws attached them together and put on the side panel. For the same noise level there is alot more air flow on my video card now.

The card is coming today!

Can I use AS epoxy? looks like the fans unscrew from the heatsink? what drivers did you use? I mostly play BF1942
Thanks John

I wouldn't use an epoxy in case you ever have to replace the heatsink. Just use a regular thermal compound. I've been told Arctic Silver 3 can damage a GPU... but Asus told me to use some type of Arctic Silver... I'm not sure which I'll use yet when my new heatsink comes tomorrow.

The card OC's higher then any other TI4400 in a shootout review using that heatsink, so I would not change the best heatsink on the market, I will also have a huge 120MM fan blowing 24C temps right on the card!

Don't think you understood what I meant... if your fan dies, like mine just did the other day, you're gonna want to get that heatsink off to replace it. And if you use epoxy to bond the heatsink to the GPU, you're going to have an extremely difficult time getting it off if you ever need to get it off.

I dont think you have to remove the heatsink to replace the fan?

Some don't easily come apart, I took the fan off my stock Asus heatsink and the screws must have been glued into the aluminum because it stripped out the holes when I removed it... good thing I don't need to reuse that heatsink. Either way... it's never a good idea to perminantly bond things like that together if you're a "do it yourselfer" rather than a "return it to the manufacturer if there's a problem and let them correct it"

YAHOOOOOOOOO..
I got a brand new unused retail boxed version with all the goodies :Q
The video card was sealed unused and unmarked and fired right up, all the other parts are here including VIVO dongle and about 10 disc's.. everything sealed!

The only thing I see is a note inside the manual that says that they replaced the my vivo disc with the new winfast pvr time-shifting disc, is this why it was sold as refurbished?😕

My wife thinks that somebody bought it.. never opened it and returned it?

Yeah do not use epoxy, just use AS3 and get some thin screws/bolts from the hardware store, I knew of the possible short using metal screws but it worked fine and really allowed higher overclock because with those push pins the heatsink doesn't even touch all the ram sinks. I have a bunch of pictures of when I took it apart if you would like to see them , let me know.
