It was stolen Sunday night. Long story short, luckily the sim card was out of the phone when it was stolen. (I was using a different phone temp basis)

It sucks as I hadn't setup the "Find my iphone" app... and the iphone was an unlocked model, not with any carrier.

Guy took it out of my car at a gas station. I have a photo of him (its really bad quality from cameras) and make of car, but no plates.

(This was an old country side gas station)

Bought a Lumia 520 today brand new for $99 plus tax, Going to have to give it a whirl for a while until I figure out what my work is going to do with it. I still had a prepaid line active that I'm using the 520 with short term.

Edit: The next day I found somebody selling a like new (still had factory plastic on it) Nexus 4 16GB for $180! Loving Android, why I ever left is beyond me

Too bad about the iPhone. That's an expensive phone to have stolen. :(

You won't miss out too much with the 520 considering. I have the T-Mobile version, the 521, and side-by-side playing around with it versus the iPhone 5, you really aren't sacrificing that much considering the price difference.

My 521 (middle) next to an iPhone 5:

Sorry man I can't stand thieves. That guy will eventually get what he deserves. Karma is a bitch.

Thanks man

It sucks - but I found a Nexus 4 for $180! Man I love the used cell phone market, and Google right now. I love Android.

You should file a police report and get in touch with the gas station. Gas stations typically take down the plate numbers of anyone who fills gas there in case someone takes off without paying. Otherwise they might have some cameras that got the plates.

Might be a long shot, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

Why not cough up the extra $20 and get a brand new one?

Because in Canada its $249.99 + 16.99 Shipping + 13% HST (Tax) to where I live - Comes out over $300.00.

I don't have money right now to buy an expensive smartphone. For $180 I can't go wrong with a Nexus 4. Loaded Project Speed 4.3 on it last night and its smooth sailing from here. (PSX)

Man, that's really scummy for a guy to do that. What, were you inside paying, he sees the phone in the passenger side and takes off with it?
