McCulloch has to be the worst brand of HID's ever. You're going to regret going the cheaper route here in the near future - should have gone Phillips or someone else to begin with.

what's the difference between an entire kit and the $9 sets you can get off ebay ? Well I'll tell you... the cheap ones on ebay died after 1-2 years (acceptable at that price). What's the cost for a kit ?

Unless you replaced the reflectors as well, you're going to blind everyone else on the road. The HID bulbs are not meant for lower-discharge reflective cones that direct the light.

They looked fine before, and they were stock, as in designed and extensively tested specifically for that car by a real Honda engineer.

Yeah well, so are 100 hp d series motors in civic DXs. That doesn't mean it's a bad idea to get a motor swap.

There is a ton of stuff for cars that is illegal in California. A cop told me that the covers over my license plates were illegal, nevermind the fact that I bought the covers with the frames in a Kragen auto parts store IN California.

I hate those lights. EDIT: Although I appreciate your attempting to aim them properly.

Yeah, they're illegal in most states.. radar "locks on" to the license plate and some covers can mess it up. Smoked covers also make it just about impossible to read your license plate.

I did it for my car, excpet i got an 6000k phillips kit. I got my lights aimed professionally. Had it for over a year and still flawless. No problem with cops..(knock on wood). Before i got it aimed, i did have people flashing me, but ever since the aiming ~ 6months ago, no more flashing.

i appreciate you aiming them right. nothing worse than idiot ricers putting $1000 headlights into their $3000 car and blind the fvck out of everyone.

That's exactly what I mean... why spend money for an entire kit when you can get the same effect, albeit for a shorter amount of time (possibly), with a $9 set of bulbs ? How much is the conversion kit and what else is the difference ?

Hey Hitek, they make Projector housings for your car.
You might as well get those for the HID.
The beam pattern doesn't look legal to me, and you might be a target. Driving an older acura with hids.

Yes it does. Just sell it and get another Civic with a better motor.

You do not get the same effect. You can easily tell HIDs from Xenon bulbs.

I have Xenon bulbs as my high-beams and they are completely drowned out by the HIDs. The Xenon bulbs aren't really that good either. I originally had a set in my car but they burned out (literally melted) in about a week. They also required higher power so they could potentially damage your electrical system.

OTOH, Sylvania Silverstars are quite bright though they do not have the same color as HIDs. They are often marketed as HID replacements.
