My new gpu is not working...

I just bought a hd 7770 for my pc , when I turn it on it always boot up on my onboard vga even the hd 7770 is on it

CPU: Intel Pentuim Dual Core E2180 OC'ed at 2.8 ghz
GPU: from 7300se to hd 7770
RAM: 1GB Kingston DDR2
MOBO: ASRock 945GCM-S
PSU: POWERLOGIC ATX-500W
HDD: 500GB HITACHI 7200RPM

when I hook up my old gpu it works but when hd 7770 is hook up it boots up on my onboard vga

There should be a setting somewhere in the BIOS to disable the onboard. Have you tried that...?

Do not forget to hook up the 6-pin PCIe power connector as well.

I choose my pci-e as the default and connected the 6-pin PCIe power connector but it always load on my onboard vga . I try to reset my bios but nothing happens

Are you using a DVI to VGA adapter? If so, use the one that came with the card and not the one you were using before.

yes I use a DVI to VGA adapter, the one that came with the card , even my old gpu have a dvi slot and it is working

It's probably the m/b bios, not seeing the video card. This was a problem with pci-e 2.1 cards also on some older m/b's. Some have bios updates, others can't be bothered. It's been a running issue. If you could test the card in a more modern computer it might confirm this. But , many don't have a extra newer computer, or they would be using it. Sorry.

Did you find that bios. I usually have good luck at finding things, and I tried, after I directed you to that thread. I can't find that 1.21 bios anywhere. You might try the emails in those threads from owners of that M/B , that expressed good results and willingness to help others. (though that was a year ago) in some cases.
