I have a new Philips DVD711 dvd player I got for xmas, it is cdr and cdrw compatable, when I burn vcd's it plays them in black and white and they are moved down like an inch on the screen, would anyone know why this is happening please shoot me an email thanks

The DVD may not have VCD compatability. DVD lasers are different from CDrom lasers. I don't use my DVD for a CD drive because of this.

this is a stand alone dvd player with vcd capability, I found out that the vcd's i'm playing are 25fps which is considered PAL and unfortunetly my dvd player won't force NTSC playing on anything considered pal and will not do the conversion on the fly like some other DVD players, unfortunetly I have to figure out how to convert it to NTSC or get a new dvd player
