My new Duron 700 is running 1 GHz!!!! :):)

Hey all,

Just an update, and a big HOORAY.... I got my Alpha the other day for my Duron 700, and I did the pencil trick and OC'ed it to 950 at only .25V over default voltage.... So I KNEW it had enough in it to hit a gig..... But it just wouldn't go there. Not that it owuld lock up...it just wouldn't CHANGE TO a GHz! Well, some guys in another thread I posted recommended I do the pencil trick again, so I took it out, erased my old lines and re-did them, and SHO 'NUFF.... Here I am posting at 1 GHz.

Thanks again, guys, for helping me out. I never would have guessed that my pencil lines weren't good enough.

Now, to see hwo far it can REALLY go....

Woo! Keep us updated. Sounds like you have a good slab o' silicon on your hands, let us know if she does 1.05GHz or 1.1GHz!

My Duron is a week 32. I got it from Mwave.com with my motherboard.

As for anything faster...I just tried. For now, it's a no-go. --But that's OK with me. I'm just FINE with a 300 MHz overclock! I COULD try to raise the FSB speed, but seriously....that would just be ridiculous. Update though.... It IS running rock solid stable at 1.75V so far! I can't believe I got so lucky with this thing. My goal was 950 at 1.85V. BOY, did I every beat that!!

Hey, I think I am still the current reccord holder. I Have a 700 running stable for about 5 days now at 1150 MHz.

It sounds like they are, but I hope we can still find ways to overclock, or at least still get Durons that have pins for some time to come.


So far I've heard that Week 36+ Durons have no multiplier pins ...
