My new DSL speed is......is this any good?

1201 down, 218 up, of what, Bits, Bytes, Megs, Donkeys???

Good, or Bad DSL? Depends on your contract (or whatever the DSL ISP promised).

If my ISP promised 1.5Mb/sec. and my download is 80KB/sec. it is bad.

However, if my contract call for 786Kb/sec, and my download is 80KB/sec. it is superb.

I'm assuming its in bits since thats what DSLReports has always been for me. If that is the case then yes, they are pretty good speeds for dsl, unless your paying for say a 2 mbit line, in which case your getting ripped off.

1.2 down is pretty good. Again you're DSL speed will vary depending on how far off you are located for the Central Office. Most people that i know with DSL get about about 900k to 1000k down.

I am a little confused here...
kb/sec Vs KB/sec ???

I have 128/768 dsl for my dsl and never ever goes above 100KB/sec

<kb/sec = kilobits/second
KB/sec = kilobytes /second

8bits in a byte

800kb =100KB. >

see...
no wonder never get more than 100K download...

thanks, saltin...

DirecTVDSL (static) 1.5Mb/s / 150Mb/s up. I have hit 1.5 dnld, don't know about up. varies with sites.

We consistently get 1.2 and 1.4Mb/s dnld. sometimes 1.5Mb.
