There have been like 3 E1505 sales in the past month where you could get a nice one for $550! (1.6Ghz Core Duo, 512MB, 40GB, CD-R/DVD, 1yr warranty)

recent deal for $614: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/messageview.php?catid=18&threadid=613613

Yup, and that's a lot different from my system.

Mine has a better screen, 512mb more ram, a lot better graphics chip, an Audigy HD sound solution, 20GB more HD space, longer battery, a better wireless card, and that Targus bundle

I know, I saw those. But, if I wanted what I wanted it would have cost me a lot more. The specs on the machine I ordered are way better than the defaults

Your is also twice as expensive. So the question is... is it twice as good? 🙁

lol it's like asking why a person would buy an AMD X2 vs a Pentium D or a 7900 GTX vs 7900GT.

My goal was to get the best machine at the cheapest price I could find. If you got a laptop with the same specs and accessories (sp?) as I got, it would cost a LOT more than what I paid, which was the main point I wanted to make.

I felt that paying what I paid for my system with the specs & accessories was a great deal.

Besides, I like playing games on my laptop too.

I just wanted to see if other people saw it the same way I did, but it's not like it really means anything.

That's a nice deal. I wonder if it included the same stuff as mine. I really needed a laptop for the last year or so, and I finally had the extra money to get one this summer.

nice brick.

Yup, but the backpack I ordered should help me carry it around. This laptop should last me for a while (assuming nothing dies). I'm thinking the laptop is gonna be around 8 lbs or so.
