Image Contrast Ratio: 350:1 (typical), 200:1 (minimum)
Image Brightness: 250 cd/m2 (typical), 200 cd/m2 (minimum)

Although the Dell doesn't list the response times, I've read on the 'Net that it's 25ms. I have this monitor and am very pleased with it.

Also, another thread currently going on about the Dell, includes comments about whether there's ghosting in games, etc.

I think I'll stick with the Hitachi CML174B. 16 ms response time (fastest yet) and 400:1 contrast ratio. Its 17 inch not 18 but I would rather have better response time and contrast ratio than an extra inch.

What sort of difference have you seen with a DVI connection over a analog? I dont have a DVI card but may get one if it's worth it..

well, to me its night and day.

especially when it comes to ghosting issues for which the DVI connection shows none. ;)

Is it just me, my monitor, or do other people's grays with their Dell 1800FP (HTML code #666666) have a slight yellowish tint to them? Is it the glare from the screen? Did I get a crappy monitor, should I ask Dell for a replacement?
