as if my 18" Microtek brand LCD (which I bought last week) wasnt good enough, I went ahead and bought an 18" Dell 1800FP because I have heard many good things about this monitor. all I can is WOW, she is a nice one.
here's some pics:
yeah yeah, its only the box, but thats part of the experience.

unpackin' the goods. the included DVI cable is an added touch which I hear that some DVI input LCDs dont even come with a DVI which is stupid. hell, if they're gonna be capable of DVI then why not include the cable in the first place?
Pic 2
back shot of the 1800FP. man, this thing weighs a ton compared to the Microtek that its replacing.
Pic 3
here they are side by side. funny thing is that they are both 18" but the Dell looks bigger.

and here she is in her new home.

now first of all, I do wanna admit that I can be one cheap SOB at times just because I dont have alot of dollars to be throwing away so thats why I first bought the Microtek because certain Wal-Mart stores have the for like $400 which is a great price for an 18" LCD.
however, I seen a thread the thread last week how they (Dell) was offering the 1800FP for like $450 w/ free ground shipping. so I decided to jump on that deal. I think my total bill was like $475 which included the sales tax that Dell charges in FL.
so do I think it was worth it? hell yes.
do I think DVI is worth the extra $$$ over analog input? heck yes.
sometimes cheaper isnt better and in this case that certainly proves it. the picture looks more crisp over the Microtek and there is NO GHOSTING going on w/ the Dell's DVI vs. the Microtek's analog connection which had a "tadd" bit of ghost but barely noticeable. so it basically cost me an extra $45 for a much better monitor.
I'm happy. 18" Dell 1800FP
