Few weeks ago I ve asked about some additional feedback in regards to the patent, copyright laws, right now the copyright is pending, so I am ready to "reveal" my game.
original thread

Thre is no computer version of the game just yet. The idea is simple, but it will be difficult to program and make. I am planning to learn and use Flash actionscript to make a "flash game" out of it. In addition, the multiplayer engine may require a lot of socket programming which I am learning right now....

I decided to call the game a brainsoccer.
All you need to play it is a piece of grid, two pens, and somebody to play with...
Since the learning curve is about 5 minutes anybody can play it....
rules are outlined here
Sample game is here
Also, I know that the web site is kinnd of lame, but I dont have that much time to play with some fancy designs.
Anyhow, any constructive feedback, ideas, or extensions to this game are welcome
Let me know...
P.S. Try to play it with someone, it is a lot of fun...

The rules are confusing. Could I suggest, instead of lumping it all into 2 paragraphs, maybe spread it out a little bit, and describe exactly what happens in each situation.

So like, I understand the game, it's kind of like Dots. The thing is, you can only play to one goal and to the average American, that sucks. It would be better if you had like a 5 second time limit on the computerized version or something.

Well you can play only to one goal, cause the average game will take about 20~30 miutes to score that goal..
Kind of like in real "soccer" ;)
Edit: It seems to be similart to "dots" but not quite...
Maybe I should rename it to "dots soccer" ?

Well, tic tac toe is already in a "public domain"
This game is not...
Beside the copyright application was only $230.00 so I decided to give it a shot...
P.S. I was thinking about patenting it :Q

You realize that this is easier to copy than music, right? All you need is a pencil, some graph paper, and 10 seconds. You going to prosecute anyone who draws a square with bumps on the ends w/o your permission?

Absolutely NOT, feel free to play, enhance it, or do whatever you want...
I am copyrighting it because I was thinking about start selling the "game kits" consisting a grided notebook full of pre drawn play fields, and 2 pens....
If someone would like to do this same thing, they would have to give me a share....;)
Edit: The game itself is absolutley "free"..

The patent application and all the costs would be at least $2000.00, and like notfred said, I can not patent it.......
Edit: I am online

Just try it, I am sure you are going to like it....
In regards to the strategy, in my opinion, it is almost as strategically inolving as checkers....

looks neato..

I would've played it back during all my parents' road trips.. my brother and I were desperate for something more intellectual than tictactoe and dots and hangman.. and we couldn't exactly play checkers in the car.

Make more games like that and publish a kid's book.

I am working right now on "brain football" but it tough...
It would be difficult to port the football onto a piece of paper....
But if I could do it, it would be sweet...:D
Edit: Make sure to dowload the grid (in .doc format, because I dont have Acrobat) and try it....

Pretty cool. If you get a patent you cab start selling kits and stuff. Or maybe you could make a whole line of "brain" games and sell the kits or do some kind of club fun pack or something. You could make some money off it.

Downloaded the .doc, took a screen shot, loaded it in paint and played like that, then just reloaded it each time for a new game. Pretty fun.

Tip: You need someone to play with, it is very "social" game for now, but the computer AI is in the making....
Edit: Can not get a patent, but I will copyright it....
